Bluegill, redear, and sunfish are available year-round on our Central Coast lakes, and guests are welcome to keep their catch.

Half Day and Full Day Packages

Half-day and full-day fishing trips are available on Central Coast lakes including Lake Nacimiento, Lopez Lake, San Antonio and Santa Margarita Lake.

Who is RGS?

RGS is a full service multi species fresh water guide serving San Luis Obispo and Monterey County. With over 30 years experience in tournament fishing ,with multiple wins and AOY (angler of the year) awards, guiding became the natural next step. It is now the passion  and joy of my life to share my experience and knowledge with others on the water. 

From complete newcomers to advanced anglers, RGS will treat you to a stress free day of  learning and catching, without worrying about  bringing any tackle or rods.

Doug has deep seated roots right here on the central coast. He grew up fishing Margi, lopez, Naci, and San Antonio from childhood. His knowledge of our lakes at all water levels is second to none. He runs a simple, clean and extremely organized tracker 180. With a mercury 90hp on the back. Forward facing sonar, latest in electronic anchoring trolling motor. Live well, large lowrance units and ample available storage for your gear to keep the decks clear of clutter.
I have taken my kids with Doug several times and fished 1 on 1 with him many times. Each time I walk away a better angler. His willingness to share his vast knowledge is something rare today. No matter your level of experience if you want to step up a level or two give RGS a call. Doug is an excellent photographer. I have great photos of my personal records caught with him.
